Chinese sporting apparel company, Xtep International, has become the official uniform sponsor for the University of Hong Kong's marathon team.
As part of the deal the company will provide uniforms to be worn by the team runners, its cheer squad and support staff starting at this weekend Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon.
Xtep CEO, Ding Shui Po said the company was attracted to the sponsorship because the HKU Marathon Team is one of the most established tertiary education institution marathon teams in Hong Kong.
"Running has been Xtep's core sport category, and marathons are the best way to demonstrate the dynamics of running," Shui Po said.
Xtep has sponsored international marathons in over ten major cities in Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, promoting the "Run with Fun" spirit that encourages community-wide participation.
