Korean Air sponsors boxing to help internationalise the sport

South Korean airline, Korean Air has become a major sponsor of the International Boxing Association and heavily leveraged the new deal in the lead up to the London Olympics through the association's 'Road to London' program.

The Road to London program was opened up to men and women boxers that had qualified for the Olympics but did not have adequate training facilities at their disposal.

A sum of 44 boxers from 25 countries took part in the program and were assisted by 37 professional boxing coaches.

Korean Air Chairman and CEO Yang Ho Cho, said the sponsorship is part of the company's efforts to help develop international sports.

Korean Air is also a major sponsor of Korean athletes including figure skater Kim Yeon A, swimmer Park Tae Hwan and rhythmic gymnast Son Yeon.
