Malaysia’s largest banking and financial services company, Maybank (Malayan Banking Berhad) has increased its sponsorship of golf through a deal as the title sponsor of new Asian Development Tour (ADT) tournament in Indonesia.
The event will be known as the Bii Maybank Asian Development Tour and it will be have a total prize pool of US$50k.
The ADT was launched in 2010 as a secondary tour to assist up and coming players develop their skills. It is the first time that Maybank as sponsors an ADT event.
Maybank Chief Marketing Officer, Mohd Adam Wee Abdullah, said the deal follows on from the success of the Maybank Malaysian Open, which the company has sponsored since 2006.
"We felt the timing was right to invest in the game at the development level, hence the birth of our new ADT event in Indonesia," he said.
